    Kelly (she/her)

    Co-Owner, Stylist + Colorist

I’m not currently taking new clients, but keep an eye on the instagram in case this changes!

Hi! I am one of the co-owners of the Sapphire Hair Lounge and I am so lucky to say that I have been doing hair for 23 years!

What an absolutely wild ride it has been. My absolute favourite part of this is the connection I have made with my clients. Some of them have been with me the whole time, many have trickle down along the way, and getting to spend time with them in my chair has truly been a highlight of my life.

I specialize in fashion colors, I am an educator for one of the major Fashion colour brands and have been lucky enough to travel the world teaching with them over the past few years! While my portfolio is quite colourful, I assure you, there is no such thing as a boring service to me. The special relationships I have with my guests is really what it’s all about.

When I’m not working, I’m spending time with my son and rescue dogs, traveling and going out to many of the local events this great city has to offer. I’m incredibly grateful for the community we have here at the Sapphire. Watching our team grow, alongside my partner April, has been a true gift.

    April (she/her)

    Co-Owner, Stylist + Colorist

While I’m not currently taking any new clients, keep an eye on instagram in case this changes!

Hi there, my name’s April and I’m a co-owner of the Sapphire. I’ve been doing hair for 22 YEARS!!

Right now I’m really into Shags and mullets, as well as anything with an edge.  I love a big transformation, whether that’s cutting a ton of hair off, or a drastic color change.  That being said, I also love the connections and friendships I have with my regular clients who love their balayage or subtle hilites.  In the end, it all comes down to making you feel your best.

This industry is ever changing.  The trends and styles will never stay 100% the same, which is one reason that I love this job!  I am always learning and growing as a stylist and love to keep myself educated and inspired by all of the amazing artists that are out there.

As for my personal side, I’m a pretty easy going person, who enjoys traveling,  camping, cooking, reading, sewing and just hanging out with my partner and our fur babies.  I like to have a good balance of work and fun, and I think our salon truly reflects that.  It’s the best decision I’ve ever made, and I’m so happy to have Kelly to share it with.

    Andrew (he/him)

    Barber + Stylist

Hi! My name is Andrew and I have over 8 years in the industry. I loved the idea of getting to hang out with my friends/clients at work all day. As well as helping people to look and feel great, while providing the best possible service I can. I continue to have a love for traditional Barbering. Since working at The Sapphire, I’ve discovered an interest for anything short and modern as well. My passion is providing excellent service including:

-45 min to 1 hour hair services
    -Beard services
    -Shave services
    -Silent service options
    -Gender neutral pricing
    -Nape shaves
    -Scented hot towels
    -Barber Massage
    -Complimentary bottled Coca Cola beverages

One of my career highlights is that I travelled to Rotterdam in the Netherlands to take a Barbering course from The Old School Barbering Academy to learn from some of the most well known Barbers in the world. When I’m not working behind the chair I love spending time with my gorgeous wife on our homestead. We have chickens, bees, and other animals which we love so much.

I also enjoy woodworking and playing video games. I hope that those who choose to sit in my chair feel heard, respected, at ease, and that they walk out of the salon relaxed and feeling like the best version of themselves.

    Cass (she/her)

    Stylist + Colorist

Hi I’m Cass!  I’ve been a hairstylist for 8 years and I love working in a creative industry!  It’s more than just hair, my goal is to make every client feel fabulous when they leave the salon.  I’m excited for any kind of change – even if it’s just a bang trim!

From dimensional blondes to vivids, I’m always down to create natural or bold changes to the hair.  Trends cycle frequently & I love to adapt my skills for any kind of colour service.  I always look forward to the new ideas my clients bring in!

Shags, butterfly cuts, long layers are my favorite for cutting.  I love adding shape and movement into the hair!  Layers are a go-to manageable style that I will recommend for most clients!!  And if you love a bouncy blowdry – I’m your girl!!

Creating a comfortable space for my clients is the most important – anyone is welcome in my chair!  I appreciate all the relationships I build with my clients, I truly get excited to get updates on your life adventures!

Outside the salon, I spend my time creating art projects like bead work or learning new crafty hobbies!  I love to watch horror movies or trash TV, with a cat by my side, of course.  I’m a huge animal lover so please tell me about your pets!!

    Katie (she/her)

Curly Hair Specialist, Stylist + Colorist

Accepting new clients with direct referral!

Hi, I’m Katie! I’ve been in the industry for over 15 years, going on 7 years at The Sapphire.

I got into the industry initially because I thought a creative career would be fun, turns out it really is. My passions within the job have changed throughout the years, and at this point my clients are truly my passion. I am so excited hear about your new job, relationship, things you do for fun etc. I absolutely love every single one of my clients and they’ve since become friends and are truly a very important part of my life.

I’m trained in curly hair and specialize in all types of curly hair. Hair school doesn’t focus much on textured hair and from the beginning of my career I wanted to make sure every single person, regardless of hair texture and type will be able to get their hair done with me. I love a good natural hair blowout, a curly shag moment, a huge color transformation, basically I love it all.

When I’m not choppin’ hair, you can find me sitting in my hammock in the park, cuddling my 14 year old cat Lily, hanging out with my pals, cooking and ripping around town on my bike.

One thing I want every client or potential client to know, is that I strive to make my chair the safest place possible. Everyone is welcome, everyone is encouraged to be themselves. I want you to feel comfortable trusting me with your hair and our conversation and for you to be exactly who you are, because you’re the best!

    Kallie (she/her)

    Stylist + Colorist

Weekend appointments are reserved for current guests!

I’m Kallie & I’ve been working in the hair world for over 6 years now!

I’ve always been a big fan of colouring hair, especially the bigger, longer transformations. The whole process from beginning to end is so satisfying; even more so when it’s finished off with a nice tone of red—which I’m currently really into doing right now! With all the love I have for colouring hair, I do enjoy a good shag, mullet or “emo” cut. If you know you know.

When I’m not at work & the weather permits you’ll find me at a park reading books about spirituality, astrology, anything mystical & some self help sprinkled in the mix. The winter months are spent crocheting & watching true crime documentary. As I’m writing this bio, I’ve been sharpening up on my roller skating skills & spending extra quality time with my senior cat!

I recently completed a curly hair class where I gained confidence in cutting & styling curly hair. With that said I would LOVE to get my hands in more curls. After all, we all deserve to feel like our best selves! Our hair plays a huge role in enhancing that feeling, & I’m grateful to anyone who gives me the trust to give them that confidence boost! Seeing your faces light up after a service is such a rewarding feeling that I’m lucky to experience, all while building meaningful connections on a daily basis. It’s why I love this job!

    Danae (she/her)

    Stylist + Colorist

Evenings and weekends are reserved for current clientele only please! Check Instagram for updates!

I’ve been in the industry for over 6 years and specialize in colour corrections, balayage and most recently, beaded weft extensions!

I’ve done 5+ balayage & lightening classes including those taught by Josie Vilay, Farhana Premji & Masters of Balayage’s, Ryan Weeden.

I’m most recently certified in “Yours Vanish Wefts” extensions.

I feel passionately about guiding my clients to hair that works for them. Whether that’s coming in every 4 weeks or twice a year, there’s a hair colour/service for everyone! My goal with each service is to have my clients feel more confident than when they came in.

I’m here to educate and answer any questions! After-all, you don’t need to spend an hour every morning doing your hair, but maybe a product change or two, and 5 an extra minutes would have you walking out the door feeling your best…. You deserve it!

That’s a big part of what inspired me to get into this industry!

Aside from hair, I have two cats (Pancake & Ophelia) who gave me my cat lady title at the ripe age of 19! They’re literally perfect little Angel babies, except for when they chew on my charging chords!  I grew up in the country, so naturally I love the outdoors, camping, and bonfires. I’m an extrovert and somehow have surrounded myself with the absolute best people, so it’s always a silly goose time!

I graduated hair school in October 2021 and have been behind the chair since June 2023. My focus is on providing a safe space for both the LGBTQIA+ community and neurodivergent folks! I offer quiet services and always have a basket of fidget toys at my station. Outside of the salon, I enjoy watching anime, reading manga and fanfics, and playing video games or DND with my friends. I also love animals and used to work in a pet store for 7 years! Talk to me about your nerdy interests and the critters you have at home and we’ll get along great!

    Eryn (she/her)

    Stylist

Hi, my name is Eryn! I’ve been doing hair combined total of about 18 years, with a break in between to do a BFA. I would say that I specialize in haircuts! I love cutting hair from a short fade to the longest layers and all the haircuts in between on every humans head. The best part of this job is the diversity of people I get to meet and that every day is different! When I’m not at work, you can find me rollerskating (no, I don’t do derby), photography and art, (very amateur) birding, travel! Can’t wait to meet you!

  • Portrait of a young woman with black hair, tattoos, and piercings, standing in front of a bookshelf filled with vinyl records.

    Courtney

Hi, I’m Courtney and I am the apprentice at the Sapphire! When you enter the salon or call for your appointment, chances are it will be me that you are talking to! I graduated from MC College in winter 2026 and so excited to see where my career goes and how I grow as a stylist! I am particularly interested in fashion colors, colour blocking, and all over hair colour. When I am not at work, I love video games, crafting, cooking and baking, and spending time with my cat.

    Mel (she/her)

    Stylist + Colorist

Evenings and weekends are reserved for current clientele only please! Check Instagram for updates!

I’ve been doing hair now for over 6 years And it feels like I’ve been doing it soo much longer ! Some days It can feel like I eat sleep and breathe hair, and when it comes down to it I’m a mermaid at heart with vivids but there is no style I don’t enjoy doing I love it all!

I got into the industry to help make others feel the best about themselves ! Self care is a huge thing for me and a little pampering or just having someone play with your hair can make a world of difference. When you feel as good on the outside as inside it’s a game changer! That confidence when someone leaves the salon is why I do this.

My specialties include vivids and festival hair! However that does not mean I don’t enjoy a good balayage or highlite appointment, there’s still something so satisfying about a foil job that makes my heart sing chefs kiss I enjoy expanding my experience with classes I’ve taken from Color classes , Balayage placement to even haircuts and keeping up with the trends You can catch me always practicing my braids and wedding updos. I’m a sponge that loves to soak in educational material !

I love dogs have and always will have for pets, I enjoy staying active from the gym to activities working out should be fun so bring on the bowling and laser tag arcades / activate games!

If there’s anything my clients get to take away from spending time in my chair with me is a new confidant – someone they can trust to share personal things without judgment – a new confidence in styling their hair if they aren’t sure where to start, or looking to spice things up with suggestions!! I’m so proud to work in a non judgmental safe space and welcome all to come sit in my chair !

She enjoys education others on how to do their own make up and working on creative photo shoots. Women love her ability to enhance their natural beauty and make them feel like the most glamorous versions of themselves.

Over 10 years… Let’s not age me here! Lol

WHY DID YOU WANT TO BECOME A MAKEUP ARTIST?

I took the cosmetology program in high school, and started doing makeup for the school plays. When I was in university I worked part time at a makeup counter and fell in love with making people feel like the most glamorous version of themselves.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MAKEUP STYLE OF ALL TIME?

I have always been in love with classic beauty makeup. A perfect wing liner and a bold red is is my absolute favourite. It’s always in style. Also any red carpet makeup… they are wearing a lot but it doesn’t look like it. It’s always flawless and stunning.

WHO IS YOUR CELEBRITY HAIR ICON?

Marilyn Monroe, the pouty red lips. The swooshy lashes, she always just had that “glow” to her!! She is a timeless beauty that will alway be an icon! “Beneath the makeup and behind the smile I am just a girl who wishes for the world.” -Marliyn Monroe
